Our Story

Hector's Row by Hafen Lettings is managed by me, Ella. I thought a bit of context on the project and who we are may be interesting for people who want to stay at our place.

For almost 50 years in total my Dad, Norman and his father (also Norman) have been in the business of constructing homes all across the Island of Mull for local people and new visitors alike.

In 2014, Norman (Jr), envisioned Hector’s Row: four angular iron clad homes (drawn by ESB Architects). Aiming to promote both design and energy efficiency alike. Upon entry to Tobermory it’s difficult not to be drawn to Hector’s Row, injecting colour and playfulness into the rural landscape whilst also paying tribute to the iconic vibrancy of the renowned Tobermory main street.

The interior of each home differs, all displaying varying nuances of character: flooring ranges from terrazzo with pink hues to grey wood panelling. However, the language of each house is consistent boasting mountain views, contemporary finishes and light filled, open plan kitchen, dining, living spaces.

In 2020, we made the decision to share Hector’s Row with tourists. The Blue, Red and Green house are now all available to rent via AirBnb.

We now all work as a family along with our cousins to run Hector’s Row and we hope you want to come and visit us!
